AfterLead is a managed AI follow-up and appointment-setting service. We help businesses respond to and follow up with their inbound leads across SMS, email, and phone, qualify them, book appointments, and answer inbound calls. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have. We try to keep it plain so you can actually read it.

Because of how our service works, we handle personal information in two different ways, and your rights depend on which one applies. The next section explains the difference.

The two roles we play

AfterLead handles personal information in two distinct roles:

  • As a controller. For our website, our demo and discovery forms, and our direct relationship with the businesses that use AfterLead, we decide how and why information is used. This policy governs that information.
  • As a service provider and processor. When a business signs up as a customer, it sends us information about its own leads and customers so we can follow up on its behalf. For that lead information, the customer is the controller and AfterLead is the processor. We handle it only on the customer’s documented instructions and under a data processing agreement, not for our own purposes.

If you are a lead or customer who was contacted by a business that uses AfterLead, that business, not AfterLead, controls your information. See “If a business contacted you using AfterLead” below.

Information we collect directly

When you interact with our website or sign up as a customer, and depending on the form you use, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact details, such as your name, work email, mobile phone number, and company name
  • Optional business details, such as your company website and the lead types or use cases you want to discuss
  • Consent records, including your consent state and the IP address and timestamp of your submission, so we can show that you opted in
  • Account and billing information if you become a paying customer
  • Basic usage data when you visit the site, such as pages viewed and approximate location, using minimal analytics

Lead information we process for our customers

When a business uses AfterLead, it sends us information about its leads so we can follow up, qualify, book, and answer calls on its behalf. Depending on how the customer configures the service and where its leads come from, such as a web form, an inbound call, a paid ad, or a CRM sync, this can include:

  • Contact details, such as a lead’s name, phone number, and email address
  • Conversation content across SMS, email, and phone, including messages sent and received
  • Call audio and transcripts when calls are recorded
  • Qualification details the lead shares, such as budget, timing, location, and the service they want
  • Appointment information, such as booking times, confirmations, reminders, and no-show or reschedule status
  • Lead source and activity metadata, and related fields synced to or from the customer’s CRM

We process this information only to provide the service to the customer, on its instructions, and under our data processing agreement. We do not use it to build our own marketing lists, and we do not sell it.

How we use information

We use information we collect as a controller to:

  • Send the demo follow-up across SMS, email, and phone using the contact details you give us
  • Respond to inquiries and schedule a sales conversation if you want one
  • Set up, operate, support, and bill for the service for our customers
  • Keep records of consent and communications
  • Secure, monitor, and improve the service and our messaging

SMS and phone consent for our own outreach

When you check the consent box and submit a form on our site, you are explicitly opting in to receive follow-up messages and calls from AfterLead at the number you provide, including messages sent using automated technology. This is for our own demo and sales follow-up. Standard message and data rates may apply, and consent is not a condition of any purchase.

You can opt out at any time:

  • Reply STOP to any SMS
  • Email hello@afterlead.ai
  • Tell our agent or representative on a call

We honor opt-outs across all channels promptly. Once you opt out, we will not contact you again about the demo unless you opt back in.

Email follow-up

Submitting the demo form is also your opt-in to email follow-up. You can opt out by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing hello@afterlead.ai.

Calls, messages, and recordings

Our service, and our own follow-up, use AI to generate SMS, email, and voice content, and may record and transcribe phone calls to operate the service, for quality, and for record-keeping. Where a call is recorded, we provide notice on the call.

AI-generated content can contain mistakes. Our terms of service explain how responsibility for AI output is handled.

How we share information

We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers that help us run AfterLead and deliver the service, including:

  • Telephony and messaging providers, such as Twilio, for SMS and voice
  • Email delivery providers, for transactional and marketing email
  • AI and large language model providers, to generate messages and transcribe calls
  • Calendar and scheduling providers, to book and manage appointments
  • CRM and integration providers, to sync leads and outcomes
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers, such as Vercel
  • Analytics providers, kept minimal

These providers may process information only to perform services for us. We also share information when required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect our rights, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. A current list of sub-processors is available to customers on request and through our data processing agreement.

Data retention

We retain demo and inquiry submissions for up to 24 months so we can follow up and keep proof of consent on file. We retain customer account records for as long as the account is active and as needed for legal and accounting purposes.

We retain lead information that we process for a customer for as long as that customer’s agreement requires. When the agreement ends, we return or delete that information as described in our data processing agreement, except where law requires us to keep it. You can ask us to delete information sooner by emailing hello@afterlead.ai, and we will route requests about a customer’s leads to that customer.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International data transfers

We are based in the United States and currently serve United States numbers. If information is transferred from outside the United States, we rely on appropriate safeguards where required by law.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the CCPA and GDPR, including:

  • Access to the information we hold about you
  • Correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion of your information
  • Opt-out of marketing communications
  • Data portability where applicable

To exercise these rights for information we hold as a controller, email hello@afterlead.ai. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

If a business contacted you using AfterLead

If you received a message or call from a business that uses AfterLead and you want to access, correct, or delete your information, or stop being contacted, the fastest path is to tell that business directly, since it controls your information. You can also reply STOP to any SMS to opt out, or email hello@afterlead.ai and we will pass your request to the business and help it respond.

Cookies and tracking

We use minimal analytics to understand traffic patterns. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising.

Children

The service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We will update the “Last updated” date at the top when this policy changes. Material changes will be highlighted on the demo form so you see them before you submit.
